What we've been up to lately...

We had a great summer!  We got to go to our cabin a couple times .  We enjoyed spending time up there with family and friends- four wheeling, exploring, boating, and jet-skiing.  We had Shannon's family over to watch fireworks and have a barbeque.  Shannon's sister and 3 kids were here for over a month visiting so we got to go on lots of day outings with them.  We went to California and stayed with family for a week.  Shannon's classroom at school got a complete remodel over the summer so we had to spend some time moving back in before school started-it's beautiful. We went up to Burley, Idaho to see Erik's 90+ year old grandma.  We took her to dinner and out to buy flowers for her yard.  We stayed and helped her get her yard beautiful.  It was fun to spend time with her!  Whew!  I'm sure there's more...

I guess summer is over... :( Here are some of our fabulous summer events...

BBQ at the cabin with nephews and Erik's dad.

Goofing off through the window at the cabin

View across the lake- Island Park.  This is what we wake up to every morning.

Erik with niece Courteney and nephew Drew while we were visiting California this summer.  We spent the week going to the beach and also visiting Disneyland!

Uncle Erik with Zoe at our firework party.  We barbequed and then watched the city fireworks show from the best seats in town - our backyard!

Great view of city fireworks in our backyard!  Getting ready for the show.

Another family trip to the cabin.  Going on an outing to Big Springs.  Boy was it dusty- but fun!

Erik in his "mandex".  We spent the afternoon out on the jet skis exploring the lake.

Our recent trip to Japan

Such a fun trip to Japan!  We went for Thanksgiving.  In this picture we are at a Buddist shrine. Behind us is a cave in which several Buddist gods are carved on the walls.  It was pretty neat!

All in a day's work...

Here we are designing our Medieval Kingdom.  Each student gets a piece of land (8 1/2 x 11 paper) from the Queen (me) and they have to make their roads and rivers etc.. match up with neighboring manors and the Queen's manor that lies in the middle of the kingdom.  It's a fun challenge and way cool when it's all done.  I am a very nice queen :)

Never a dull moment as a teacher!  I teach 6th grade in the accelerated program.  I have a lot of fun at work and love the challenge of keeping up with them.

Eating lunch in the classroom :) A very rare treat.

Always love the humor!  No two kids are EVER alike!

Making castles for our castle war...

I have 21 girls in my class this year and 9 boys!

Starting to practice for our class play.

More play practice- this year "The Sword in the Stone" with some Monty Python, Napolean Dynamite, and Princess Bride insertions.  It's going to be a bit wild!

And when I come home... I decorate for Easter :)  I can't wait for Spring!
